The most essential aspect of lawyering is your capability to contact your clients. Treat them like friends and show your interest in them. Be real. Lawyers that do this are much happier, as are their clients.

In general, most customers are fair and will disclose all financial affairs to their own counsel. However, there is a good deal of information online and in books on how to hide assets and income from attorneys or spouses.

Clients, notably matrimonial clients, often require a way to tell their story to others. Think about forums in which a client can get it off his chest. Look at using psychologists, social workers, mediation, Dispute Resolution Officer hearings, Judicial Dispute Resolution conferences and arbitration as techniques to allow a fighting client to unload.
TIP 1 Feel it in Your Gut
When you meet with a client and you feel it in your gut that there is something wrong with this client, listen to your body and do not take on the document. In most cases, your initial instinct will be right. There are plenty of attorneys out there to help that customer.
